AIDS is an acronym of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome which is a potentially life-threatening and chronic condition caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). By damaging one’s immune system, HIV interferes with one’s body’s ability to fight off the organisms that cause this disease. In various ways it can get transferred from one body to other. Without medication, HIV may take several years before HIV weakens infected person’s immune system to the point that he/she has AIDS.
